Here are a few everyday situations showing how checking in works, whatever kind of studio you go to.

1. Booked a yoga class

Situation: You booked the 6:00 PM Vinyasa class at your yoga studio and you're arriving a few minutes early.

How it works:

  • Open Check in and show Your check-in code to the front desk.
  • Staff scan it, and your 6:00 PM Vinyasa booking is marked attended automatically.
  • You don't need to tell them which class — ClassLift matches it for you.

2. Open-gym visit at a 24/7 gym

Situation: Your gym has a self-service kiosk and you drop in at 6 AM for an open-gym workout — no class booked.

Setup steps:

  1. At the kiosk, open Check in on your phone and hold your code up to the camera.
  2. The kiosk shows You're checked in!
  3. With no class booked, your arrival is recorded as a visit — you'll see it under Visit history.

3. A parent bringing two children

Situation: You're on a family plan at a dance studio and you're dropping both kids at their classes.

Setup steps:

  1. Show your check-in code at the front desk or kiosk.
  2. On Who's checking in?, leave yourself and both children selected (deselect anyone who stayed home).
  3. Confirm with Check in 3 — the kiosk shows 3 checked in! and all three visits are recorded.

4. Left your phone at home

Situation: You arrive for your CrossFit class but your phone's in the car.

Setup steps:

  1. At the kiosk, tap Can't scan? Search your name.
  2. Type your name on the Find your name screen and pick yourself (the masked phone number helps).
  3. The kiosk confirms your check-in. (You can also just ask a staff member to check you in by name.)

Tips for everyone

  • Your code proves it's you, so keep it on your own screen — a screenshot stops working after 30 seconds by design.
  • Checking in only marks attendance; it doesn't book a class. Book first, then check in when you arrive.
