Offering a personal-training service
For: Owners & Managers
A one-on-one service is created the same way as a class — you just set its Type to personal training. Then you decide how members pay for it: included in a membership plan, or sold as a separate add-on.
Prerequisites & permissions
- Owners and Managers create services and edit plans.
- You'll need at least one location and the provider(s) who'll deliver the service.
Creating the service
- Go to Scheduling → Classes and click New class.
- Give it a Name — for example 60-min Personal Training.
- Set Type to Personal training (1:1). The form updates to show that it's a one-on-one service.
- Choose the Location it runs at.
- Set the Duration (how long each session lasts).
- Optionally set Buffer before and Buffer after — gap minutes reserved around each session for setup or turnover.
- Click Create class. It appears in your class list with a 1:1 badge.
A personal-training service always holds one person — capacity is fixed at 1, so there's no capacity or waitlist to set.
Deciding who can book it
A member can only book personal training if their plan includes it. You control that on the plan.
- Go to Members → Plans and edit a plan (or create a new one).
- Turn on Personal training — Include 1:1 personal-training sessions in this plan.
- Choose the Allowance:
- Unlimited — the member can book as many sessions as they like.
- Limited per period — enter Sessions per period (e.g.
4), the number they get each billing period.
- Save the plan.
| Way to sell it | How to set it up |
|---|---|
| Included in a membership | Turn on Personal training on the member's main plan (e.g. unlimited classes plus 4 sessions a month). |
| A separate add-on | Create a plan whose only grant is personal training, and put the member on it alongside their regular membership. Their allowances add up. |
Tips
- Name the length in the service. "60-min Personal Training" and "30-min Check-in" as separate services makes the choice clear to members.
- Start with one plan. Add the personal-training allowance to your unlimited plan first; add a dedicated add-on later if you want to sell it à la carte.
- A member with no allowance can't book. They'll be told their membership doesn't include personal training — that's your cue to sell them the add-on.
Troubleshooting
| Issue | What to do |
|---|---|
| The service isn't offered to members | Confirm a provider has availability at the same location as the service. |
| A member can't book | Check their plan has the Personal training allowance turned on, and that they haven't used up a limited allowance for the period. |
