Real-world group setups for families and companies.

1. A family membership at a dance studio

Situation: A parent wants one membership covering themselves and their two children.

Setting Value
Group plan Family Unlimited (Group plan on, Flat rate, Member limit 6)
Group type Family
Paying owner The parent
Members Parent + two children

Setup steps:

  1. Create the Family Unlimited group plan with Group plan on, How it's billed → Flat rate (family), and Member limit 6. Leave Show on the public sign-up page on so families can start one themselves.
  2. The parent signs up for Family Unlimited on your sign-up page and becomes the paying owner — no manual group setup needed. (You can also create the group under Groups → New group if you prefer.)
  3. The parent adds their two children themselves with My team → Add a child, or you add them as dependents. Either way the parent pays one flat rate for the whole household — adding children doesn't change the price.

2. A corporate wellness membership

Situation: A local company wants to sponsor gym memberships for its staff.

Setting Value
Group plan Corporate Wellness (Group plan on, Per seat, Max seats 25)
Group type Corporate
Paying owner The company's billing contact
Members Employees, added by email invitation

Setup steps:

  1. Create a Corporate Wellness group plan with Group plan on, How it's billed → Per seat (corporate), and Max seats 25. Per-seat plans are automatically kept off the public sign-up page, so no one can pick this discounted rate on their own.
  2. Create the group as Corporate with the company's billing contact as Paying owner.
  3. Use Invite by email to bring employees in; each accepts to activate their coverage, and the company is billed per active seat — the bill rises and falls as employees join and leave.

Tips for all studios

  • Choose the model to match the offer. A flat family rate suits a household on one price; per-seat corporate suits a company that pays for each employee it covers.
  • A family group pairs with dependents so children don't each need their own login — the owner can add them with Add a child.
  • Corporate plans stay private. Because they're per-seat and never listed on the public sign-up page, only your studio can put a company on one — so no solo member enrolls at a discounted corporate rate by mistake.
