Real-world settings setups for different studios.
1. Setting up a new studio
Situation: You've just created your organization and want the basics right.
Setup steps:
- On Organization, upload your Logo, set the Organization name and Default timezone, and Save changes.
- Set your Default currency under Commerce, and sensible Booking and Check-in grace defaults.
- Under Team, Invite staff with the right roles.
2. Onboarding a front-desk hire
Situation: A new front-desk staffer starts next week at one of your two sites.
Setup steps:
- Under Team, Invite staff with the Staff role.
- Once they accept, open Location access and scope them to just their site.
- They now see the back office for that location only.
3. Cutting SMS costs
Situation: Your SMS credits are running down and you want to trim non-essential texts.
Setup steps:
- On Notifications → Organization channel defaults, find your Org-initiated notifications.
- Turn SMS off on the lower-priority ones (keep it for class reminders).
- Save changes — transactional and system messages are unaffected.
4. Tightening the cancellation policy
Situation: Late cancellations are hurting class availability.
Setup steps:
- On Organization → Booking & cancellation defaults, raise the Cancel cutoff (hrs before).
- On No-show handling, switch to Charge a no-show fee and set the fee.
- Save each card — every class without its own policy now follows the new rules.
Tips for all studios
- Get timezone and currency right up front — locations, plans, and products inherit them.
- Use Location access to keep multi-site staff focused on the sites they work at.
